Fatime Diriye

resurrected S Sivaramani, 24th June 2017, London

Fatime is a spoken word poet from Manchester, and a student at the School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS), University of London. Much of her work explores her experience of being black and visibly Muslim whilst growing up in the UK. In a Buzzfeed article by Aisha Gani (2016), Fatime was listed as one of the next generation British-Somali poets to watch.

Diyire is a member of the Bards Without Borders collective, which responds creatively to the work of Shakespeare through a refugee/migrant lens. She is also a member of the (Un)heard Words collective, and has performed alongside Tongue Fu amongst other.
