Helen Bowell resurrects Gwendolyn Brooks

Helen is a poet and language enthusiast who is currently working as The Poetry Society’s Education Co-ordinator and the editor of its Young Poets Network. In 2010 and 2011, she was a commended Foyle Young Poet, and once upon a time was a Foyle intern at The Poetry Society.

She is participating in the London Library Emerging Writers programme 2019/20, and is a graduate the London Writers Awards scheme. She has edited The Cadaverine and From the Lighthouse, the literary magazine of the Durham University English Society. She is also a founding member of the Dead [Women] Poets Society, a project exploring women poets’ relationships to women writers of the past through events across England, alongside fellow Squad writer Jasmine Simms. @deadwomentweet

Her work has appeared in Strix, The Manchester Review, The Missing Slate, and Introduction X: The Poetry Business Book of New Poets.
